Title: Sales Account Manager
Location: Shelby Twp, MI
Note: This position is a direct hire on W2, and is NOT open to C2C.
Job Description
As a Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by leveraging existing relationships and developing new business within the automotive automation and tooling space. This role requires a candidate who can hit the ground running with a strong understanding of automation equipment, check fixtures, and specialty tooling used by Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
You will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring a high level of service while identifying opportunities to expand business. Success in this role will come from bringing an established customer base, maintaining long-term client relationships, and consistently securing new business.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain, develop, and expand existing customer accounts within automotive automation.
- Leverage existing industry relationships to generate immediate business opportunities.
- Identify and develop new customers, with a focus on Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
- Build and sustain strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Communicate and clarify customer requirements with Estimating and Program Management teams.
- Submit proposals and negotiate quotations to secure new contracts and grow revenue.
- Travel to customer facilities to provide hands-on support and strengthen partnerships.
- Maintain and update weekly sales activity and pipeline reports.
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in automation and tooling.
Skills & Experience
- Strong background in Automotive Automation, including machinery, tooling, and equipment.
- Proven track record in Sales, Account Management, or Program Management.
- Demonstrated success working with or selling into Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Existing customer relationships and the ability to bring a book of business is highly preferred.
- Experience with check fixtures, automation systems, and/or specialty tooling.
- Familiarity with key industry competitors (e.g., automation integrators and tooling providers) is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Ability to travel within the U.S., Canada, and Mexico as needed.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent relevant experience.
