Our client, a leading provider of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) solutions, is seeking an experienced MEP Safety Professional to support a mission-critical data center construction project in Eagle Mountain, Utah.


This role will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of safety compliance across complex mechanical and electrical installations, with a strong emphasis on critical power, high-voltage systems, and energized work environments. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in mission critical construction and a proactive, boots-on-the-ground approach to risk mitigation and safety culture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety plans
  • Develop, implement, and enforce project-specific safety programs for MEP and critical systems work
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on electrical and mechanical safety, including LOTO, NFPA 70E, and energized systems
  • Support the development and execution of energization and commissioning safety plans for critical infrastructure
  • Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permits (hot work, confined space, etc.), and high-risk activity plans
  • Maintain safety documentation including inspection reports, training logs, and incident reports, while tracking trends and metrics
  • Provide safety training and coaching for field teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Partner with project leadership, subcontractors, and client representatives to drive a strong safety culture
  • Participate in owner/client meetings and support overall safety strategy for the project


Required Qualifications

  • 3–7+ years of experience in construction safety, preferably supporting MEP or mission critical projects
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and safety compliance practices
  • Experience supporting data center, critical infrastructure, or high-availability environments
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems construction
  • Ability to conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Additional certifications such as CHST, ASP, CSP, or OSHA 500 preferred
  • Experience with LOTO programs, Arc Flash safety, and NFPA 70E
  • Prior experience supporting energization, commissioning, or critical power systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, or related field (preferred but not required)
