The Safety Manager, Fuels is responsible for the management of the health & safety program to include the development of all SOPs, maintenance of all health & safety documentation, and implementation of the health & safety program throughout the organization to include implementation of the audit process to ensure the program is being executed effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Fuels Health & Safety Manual and program.
  • Provide training to and development of all Site Safety & Health Officers and supervision with safety responsibilities.
  • Implement audit program to provide regular in-the-field monitoring of the safety program in compliance with both internal company requirements and as directed contractually to meet client requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with assigned team members, as well as company support teams as needed to meet client project/program requirements.
  • Participate in periodic business plan and strategy development, as directed by supervisor.
  • Lead periodic team meetings and conference calls, as directed by supervisor.
  • Develop safety training program and manage electronic documentation of all employee certifications.
  • Develop technical proposal templates and specific technical proposal sections as required.
  • Develop standard health & safety work plan templates and specific work plans as required.
  • Travel regularly to job site locations to perform audits.
  • Perform/manage case management to include root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Manage all significant safety equipment programs including air monitoring, fall protection,
  • Support Senior Leadership in preparation of annual business plan development and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten (10) years progressive project/program safety management experience in fueling systems repair & maintenance or construction.
  • Minimum five (5) years of DoD Fuel Systems Maintenance, Repair, and construction project exposure.
  • Minimum five (5) years case management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in construction related safety practice.
  • OSHA 40 Certification.
  • OSHA Train-the-Trainer Certifications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Business Management/leadership training, preferred.
  • Familiar with DoD Fuel Facility UFGS, UFC, EM-385 requirements.
  • Ability to write hazardous material abatement work plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills.
