Safety Engineer – Manufacturing & Capital Equipment

Location: St. Louis, MO (On‑Site)

Why This Role Stands Out

This is not a “check‑the‑box” safety role.

This opportunity was newly created to support a manufacturing facility that is actively investing in new equipment, automation, and capital projects. You’ll play a key role in shaping how equipment is installed, validated, and safely operated—before problems occur.

If you enjoy being close to the equipment, working directly with manufacturing teams, and solving real problems at the source, this role offers visibility, ownership, and impact that many safety roles lack.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Safety Engineer to support a GMP‑regulated consumer products manufacturing site that produces spray

and aerosol products. The role blends engineering thinking with safety leadership, focusing heavily on equipment safety, risk analysis, and

failure prevention. You’ll split your time between the manufacturing floor and the office, partnering with operators, mechanics, contractors,

and plant leadership to ensure equipment is installed and operated safely, compliantly, and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Review existing equipment and new capital installations for safety, guarding, and compliance
  • Support equipment validation from a safety and risk perspective
  • Conduct risk assessments, FMEAs, and root cause analyses tied to equipment failures and near misses
  • Analyze data to understand how safety risk impacts production workflow and people
  • Deliver and support safety training (Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, confined spaces, etc.)—from quick floor huddles to formal sessions
  • Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations on corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and GMP standards
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and help implement practical solutions

This is a hands‑on role—you’ll be expected to climb equipment, work around active production lines, and engage

directly with the people running the machinery.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 2–5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience with equipment safety, risk analysis, and root cause investigations
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, and OSHA General Industry standards
  • Bachelor’s degree (discipline flexible)

Nice to Have

  • GMP manufacturing experience
  • Consumer goods, aerosol, liquid filling, or EPA‑regulated product experience
  • PSM/RMP exposure
  • Strong data analysis or reliability mindset

Work Environment

  • On‑site manufacturing facility (office + production floor)
  • Physically active role (lifting up to 50 pounds climbing ladders, accessing equipment)

Why Apply?

  • High‑impact, newly created role tied to major capital investment
  • Real ownership of equipment‑level safety decisions
  • Direct exposure to plant leadership
  • Excellent contract‑to‑hire potential
  • Strong experience builder for future safety or safety management roles

If you’re ready to move beyond paperwork and play a visible role in designing and executing manufacturing safety, this role is worth exploring.
