SUMMARY The Team Lead works in the production department assisting the production manager. Leads by example with safety ensuring the quality of the products produced meet or exceed production goals and train new or inexperienced employees.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifies that non-standards orders are produced according to written instructions, according to the Red Flag system.
  • Troubleshoots equipment specific issues and makes appropriate adjustments.
  • Prints manufacturing and material handler schedules, and not ready reports. 
  • Uses technology and can manage the manufacturing computer program to monitor orders.
  • Ensures that all safety requirements are met by all employees.
  • Promotes Clark Dietrich core values through actions as a role model.
  • When necessary, can fill in for the Shift Supervisor in a non-supervisory role.
  • Demonstrates a sound work ethic and actions that are necessary for continued advancement.
  • Promotes employee unity through their role as a team player.
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet the requirements of any Operator.
  • Any other duties required by supervisor.

 

SAFETY

  • Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
  • Wears and maintains all required PPE.
  • Keeps assigned work area clean at all times.
  • Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation.
  • Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications.

 

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assists the Department Supervisor be supporting department employees with established process in Safety, Production and Quality standards.
  • Create team environment by demonstrating problem solving and solution-based approaches to daily interactions with staff.
  • Knowledgeable in department protocols and process and consistently provides clear and timely follow-up 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication and converting fractions into
decimals.
• Ability to read a tape measure, caliper and micrometer accurately.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Lifting- Up to 50 lbs.
• Standing-8 or more hours per day.
• Walking- Off and on, 4-6 hours per day.
• Body Positions- Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms.
• Grasping- Both hands, up to 8 hours per day.
• Sitting- None.
• Pushing Effort- Carts of finished product and tools, up to 50 lbs.
• Pulling- Tools and finished product, up to 50 lbs.
• Climbing (ladders/stairs)- Occasionally.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Manufacturing facility -- exposed to heat and cold.
• Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.
• Noise controlled environment.
• Activity level is high -- continuous overhead crane and forklift movement
