Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour

Schedule: Mon–Thurs (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), Friday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Location: Remote (Hybrid in Maitland, FL upon conversion)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Return to Work Specialist to join our HR Shared Services team. This role is pivotal in managing leave of absence (LOA) and return-to-work clearances, ensuring a seamless experience for our team members while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.


This is a Temp-to-Perm contingent position. While the initial phase is remote, candidates must be local to Maitland, FL, as the role transitions to a hybrid schedule (Onsite M, W, Th) upon permanent conversion.


Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Act as a subject matter expert for return-to-work and leave administration, managing a busy caseload and responding to inquiries via phone and email.
  • Compliance & Policy: Administer procedures related to FMLA, ADAAA, USERRA, and HIPAA. Identify unauthorized leaves and refer complex cases to Employee Relations.
  • Liaison Services: Serve as the primary point of contact between managers, team members, and 3rd-party leave vendors.
  • Documentation: Process in-house leave requests, evaluate eligibility, and maintain accurate records in HCM/CRM systems.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance team efficiency and service levels.


Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a talent for de-escalating sensitive situations.

Preferred:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a large employer setting with complex leave programs.
  • Systems: Familiarity with PeopleSoft (HCM) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of DOL, IRS, and OSHA regulations regarding employee benefits.

Requirements for Onboarding

Selected candidates must be able to provide/complete:

  • Drug screening and background check (including nicotine screening).
  • Proof of vaccinations (Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB, TDaP) or signed declinations.
  • Education and employment verification (2 professional references).
  • Confidentiality and facility-specific policy acknowledgments.
