Financial Service Representative - New York Deferred Compensation Plan

Location: 385 Jordan Road, Troy NY 12180

Pay Rate: $19/Hour | Paid Weekly

Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 11:00 pm - 8 hour shift will be assigned during these hours

Training Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (first 2 weeks)

Hybrid/Onsite Requirements: 100% Onsite for training (~first month), then hybrid.

Hybrid model - 1 week in the office, 1 week home, after in-person training

Start Date: 05/26/2026


Overview:

This position is responsible for providing exposure to both Sales and Service for New York Deferred Compensation Plan.


  • Successful candidates should possess:Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Basic typing and computer skills
  • Background in customer service, preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and written communications
  • The ability to work within a team and independently.
  • High attention to detail.


The following duties cover what are generally believed to be principal and essential functions of the job. Specific circumstances may allow or require some people assign to the job to perform a somewhat different combination of duties.

  1. Receives and responds to incoming customer/agent/employer inquiries.
  2. Communicates with customers, field staff, service centers, internal/external sales support and other industry companies through oral and written communication.
  3. Maintains current knowledge of contract and product provisions and administration of the Plan, and the processing systems related.
  4. Resolves routine errors requiring corrective processing.
  5. Demonstrates the ability to identify situations that require advanced technical knowledge or exception processing and refers the situation to a Supervisor.
  6. Reviews, research, and interprets records and reports to accurately make decisions.
  7. Decision making skill necessary for customer contacts.
  8. Ability to identify and evaluate problems and analyze customer inquiries and determines appropriate action.
  9. Performs other duties as requested.


Upon acceptance of offer, candidates will be required to submit to a 10-year criminal background check, urinalysis drug screen, and soft credit screen.
