Position Summary:

Assistant in supporting staff for Retail Manager, Assistant Manager and Supervisor in the day to day operations of the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory Store. Help coach and guide customer care standards with the retail staff. Act as a leading example in providing world class customer service. Ensure that safe and cash registers are at the correct amount and have adequate change for the day. Perform daily deposits as needed. Communicate with warehouse team about inventory needs. Deliver timely and accurate customer care for all personalized orders as it relates to phone or walk-in customers. Interact with customers daily to gain product insights and monitor customer care standards.


Essential Functions:

  • Maintains and builds on customer care standards by acting as a leading example in store (under guidance by the Retail Manager).
  • Opening and closing procedures of the Museum Store.
  • Daily support regarding store operational requirements by assigning employee tasks; following up on daily goals and objectives set by Retail Director and/or Retail Manager.
  • Provide daily task list(s), report(s) or communicate product fulfillment needs of the store to retail associates. Always ensuring product availability of all merchandise in store.
  • Assist when requested in training new hires.
  • Assist when requested in daily cash register audits as well as safe audits to maintain cash handling accountability standards.
  • Balancing cash drawers and handling the Store deposits.
  • Daily check and assist on personalized bat ordering sources (phone and walk-in) and promptly fulfill orders accurately and timely.
  • Act as retail manager on duty (MOD) when Retail Manager, assistant retail manager and supervisor are not present.
  • Supports Retail Manager, Assistant Manager and Supervisor in training new hires.
  • Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  • Ensure in the safe and proper handling of store equipment.
  • Maintains the stability and reputation of the brand by complying with legal requirements, company policies and marketing direction.
  • Team player within the retail department and companywide.
  • Must have flexible work hours; weekdays, nights, weekends and Holidays.
  • Will be included to assist in the MOD weekend rotation.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years related to retail experience.
  • Successfully managed other team members directly or indirectly.
  • Goal oriented and results proven.
  • Exceptional and measurable customer focus and intuitiveness when problem solving with regards to customer satisfaction.
  • Strong merchandising, visual presentation.
  • Practicable application and daily use of Retail POS system and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Access).
