If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.With limited supervision from the Program Manager, oversees the design/development, implementation, monitoring and improvement of the Agency's Residential Needs Process.- Oversees the Residential Needs process as outlined in BHDD-OIDD directive 700-09-DD (Determining Need for Residential Services).
- Ensures decisions rendered by the Residential Services Review Committee are made in recognition of the mission, values, and principles of BHDD-OIDD and within the parameters of Directive 700-09-DD (Determining Need for Residential Services).
- Ensures the preferences of the person are considered and the person and their representative understand the process, timeframes, and what to expect.
- Develops and provides training and resources to case managers and residential providers related to the residential needs process.
- Reviews and presents cases to the Residential Services Review Committee.
- Analyzes data collected to monitor outcomes.
- Completes and performs other duties as assigned by the Residential Needs Director. Meets division expectations as outlined.
- Provides direct supervision to employees assigned to the Residential Needs process.
BHDD-OIDD is a part of the state's behavioral health and developmental disabilities agency, providing services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health conditions and substance use disorders through a wholistic, streamlined and coordinated approach. OIDD assists in the planning, developing, coordinating, and funding services for South Carolinians with the severe, lifelong disabilities of intellectual disability and related disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury and similar disability.This position is located at BHDD-OIDD's Central Office in Cayce, SC.
A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field and five (5) years of experience in the field of disabilities or Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver funded services, or a Master's Degree in a Human Services field and three (3) years of experience in the field of disabilities or Medicaid Home and Community Based Waiver funded services.
Working knowledge of South Carolina Medicaid and OIDD-operated Home and Community Based Waivers; ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; ability to exercise judgment; create logical processes and policies and work independently; ability to supervise and direct professional employees.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with direct experience in the provision of residential services to individuals with disabilities.
