A research laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team focused on developing cutting-edge microphysiological systems for cardiac disease modeling and regenerative medicine.


The lab integrates stem cell biology, bioengineering, and translational science to better understand heart disease and develop next-generation therapeutic strategies. This position is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in stem cell biology, tissue engineering, and advanced in vitro modeling systems.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, bioengineering, or a related field
  • Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team


Preferred:

  • Experience with human stem cell or primary cell culture
  • Familiarity with flow cytometry, microscopy, or imaging techniques
  • Experience with microfluidics or device fabrication
  • Interest in cardiovascular biology or regenerative medicine


Responsibilities

  • Culture, expand, differentiate, and cryopreserve human stem cells and primary cells
  • Maintain and monitor cell culture systems using aseptic technique
  • Support the development and use of microphysiological (organ-on-chip) systems
  • Assist with experimental setup, data collection, and basic data management
  • Maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., incubators, biosafety cabinets)
  • Manage inventory and order laboratory supplies
  • Document protocols and maintain organized laboratory records
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new laboratory members
