The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking analytical and effective individuals to apply for the Research and Evaluation Coordinator position.

Under administrative direction, provides technical coordination, operational and strategic plan implementation support to LACOE department and/or divisions in the areas of research design, data collection and evaluation activities; and provides program research and evaluation support and guidance to designated school districts in Los Angeles County.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:
  • Project management and budgeting
  • Measurement theory
  • Sampling and research design, including longitudinal design and analysis
  • Principles, techniques, and terminology of educational research and program evaluation
  • Descriptive, and inferential statistical techniques, interpretation, validation, and application to measuring instructional outcomes
  • Data collection systems as related to educational research and program evaluation analysis, and the development of logic models
  • Data governance principles including data quality management, document of data sources, definitions, and collection methodologies
  • Applicable sections of Federal laws, the California Education Code, California Code of Regulations, and policies, rules and regulations of the Los Angeles County Office of Education
  • Data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Enterprise data platforms and data governance/catalog tools
  • Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications

Required Education and ExperienceEducation:A bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, business administration, public administration, or a field closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

Experience:Five years of experience in educational, social, or behavior research and analysis, including three years of experience in managing/directing education, evaluation, or research projects.

Additional Requirements:A master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences, business administration, public administration, or in a related field is preferred. A valid California driver's license, proof of insurability, and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.

Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
