R&D Formulations Intern (Summer 2026)

Location: Greenville, SC

Department: Research & Development (R&D)

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Pay: $22-25/hour


Position Overview

PAI Pharma is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented R&D Formulations Intern to join our Research & Development team for the summer of 2026. This internship provides hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development within a cGMP-regulated environment.

The intern will work closely with experienced scientists to support formulation development activities, gain exposure to laboratory operations, and contribute to the development of generic pharmaceutical products.


Key Responsibilities

• Assist with formulation development activities, including preparation of laboratory batches and support of scale-up processes

• Participate in experimental design and execution under supervision

• Support packaging and evaluation of formulation batches

• Maintain accurate and compliant laboratory documentation in accordance with cGMP requirements

• Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines in the laboratory environment

• Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting of results

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed


Learning Objectives

Through this internship, the selected candidate will:

• Develop a foundational understanding of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices)

• Gain hands-on experience in liquid pharmaceutical formulation

• Learn about regulatory requirements for generic drug development

• Build practical laboratory skills in a pharmaceutical R&D setting


Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and scientific principles

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to follow procedures and work in a regulated environment

• Effective communication and teamwork skills


Preferred Qualifications

• Prior laboratory or research experience

• Familiarity with cGMP or regulated environments
