R&D Laboratory Intern (Analytical & Lab Operations) – Bridgewater, NJ (Summer 2026)

Duration: June 2026 – August 2026 (up to 3 months)

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)

Pay: $22/hour


Position Overview

PAI Pharma is seeking a motivated and hands-on R&D Laboratory Intern to support laboratory operations and analytical testing activities in Bridgewater, NJ.

This role provides a well-rounded experience across lab operations, analytical testing, and R&D project support, making it ideal for candidates looking to build a strong technical foundation in pharmaceutical development.

The intern will assist with day-to-day lab functions while gaining exposure to a wide range of analytical techniques and ongoing R&D projects.


Key Responsibilities

• Provide general laboratory support, including:

o Instrument cleaning and preventive maintenance

o Sample receiving and tracking

o Chemical/material ordering and inventory management

o Documentation filing and lab organization

• Learn and operate basic laboratory instruments (analytical balance, pH meter, viscometer, auto-titrator, etc.)

• Perform routine and non-routine laboratory testing under supervision

• Assist with testing of raw materials, finished products, stability samples, and in-process materials

• Maintain laboratory compliance with cGMP/GLP standards and safety requirements

• Accurately document all activities and results in accordance with data integrity expectations


Key Projects

• Support ongoing R&D projects based on current team priorities

• Assist with analytical testing and data generation across multiple studies

• Contribute to laboratory readiness and operational efficiency efforts


Learning Objectives

Through this internship, the selected candidate will:

• Gain hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC/UPLC, GC, Karl Fischer, FT-IR, UV, etc.)

• Learn principles behind major analytical techniques

• Develop skills in laboratory operations and maintenance

• Understand how lab operations support pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing

• Build a strong foundation in cGMP/GLP compliance and data integrity


Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related field

• Strong interest in laboratory work and analytical techniques

• Willingness to learn and take initiative

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to follow procedures and work safely in a lab environment


Preferred Qualifications

• Prior laboratory or academic research experience

• Familiarity with analytical techniques or instrumentation

• Interest in pursuing a career in R&D, QC, or analytical sciences
