Remote Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. The role encompasses a variety of functions including Formulary Management, Pharmacy Audit and Recovery, Pharmacy Service Center, Medicare Part D/Part B, Appeals, Medicare Part D Operations, State Health Programs Pharmacy Operations, and Prior Authorization. You will review requests made by physicians, medical groups, pharmacies, and members for prescription drugs and pharmacy benefits, ensuring compliance with established guidelines. The position demands a problem-solver who can research and resolve queries efficiently, consulting with Clinical Pharmacists or Regional Medical Directors as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties across multiple areas such as Formulary Management and Pharmacy Audit.
  • Review and process requests for prescription drugs and pharmacy benefits.
  • Research and resolve questions or issues related to pharmacy operations.
  • Consult with Clinical Pharmacists or Regional Medical Directors on complex cases.
  • Engage in Intake and Technician Review processes to ensure request accuracy.
  • Verify intake accuracy and determine if requests meet approval criteria.
  • Contact offices to obtain missing information for prior authorization requests.
  • Route denial cases to the pharmacist queue for double-checking.
  • Handle case remediation for overturned determinations or corrected errors.
  • Communicate decisions to providers or members via the Manual Outreach queue.

Essential Skills

  • Valid Pharmacy Technician license.
  • 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Proficiency in data entry and managed care claims.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Customer service or retail experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote.

Work Environment

The position is fully remote, promoting strong team connectivity and support through tools like Teams and Outlook. The training period schedule is Monday to Friday from 10am to 6:30pm. After training, the schedule shifts to Tuesday to Friday from 12:30pm to 9pm EST and Saturday from 8am to 4:30pm EST. Overtime is not expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
