Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Reliability, Industrial Engineering, or Physics.

• 3–5 years of experience as a Reliability Engineer in the semiconductor or a similar industry.

• Knowledge of industry standards such as JEDEC, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-202, and AEC-Q.

• Experience applying Qualification by Similarity methods.

• Hands-on experience with environmental, mechanical, and ESD stress testing.

• Skilled in problem-solving and leading root cause analysis efforts.

• Familiar with MTTF and MTBF calculations.

• Proficient in reliability prediction modeling using tools like Weibull++ or similar software.

• Strong data analysis skills using tools such as Advanced Excel, JMP, and Minitab.

• Ability to analyze reliability test data across various components and design variations.

• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE), FMEA, product design reviews, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for conducting reliability studies of existing products and coordinating new product qualification prior to market release. The candidate will work in collaboration with various teams including Reliability, Design Engineering, Product Engineering, Failure Analysis and Project Management teams.


• Join product development meetings to help ensure new products meet internal and customer requirements.

• Create qualification plans for new products, mainly MMICs, and support other product types like LTCC, PCBA, RF accessories, and Core & Wire products.

• Compare new products with existing ones to identify similarities in packaging, die process, and design, allowing for streamlined qualification through Qualification by Similarity.

• Plan and run device-level and package-level qualification tests, including MSL pre-conditioning, thermal cycling, UHAST, HTSL, ESD, and life tests.

• Define ESD tests (HBM and CDM) following JEDEC standards.

• Work with Engineering Test Teams to carry out Accelerated Life Tests and High Temperature Operating Life Tests.

• Perform mechanical stress tests such as vibration, shock, constant acceleration, and bend testing.

• Coordinate with external labs for outsourced testing.

• Review RF test data before and after stress tests to assess performance changes.

• Collaborate with Failure Analysis teams to identify root causes of product failures.

• Document any non-conformities and track corrective actions to ensure they are effective.

• Ensure qualification tasks are completed on time and report any delays.

• Share qualification results with stakeholders to support design improvements for reliability.

• Write reports summarizing product performance and failure analysis for internal and customer use.

• Communicate with customers and suppliers about product reliability when needed.

• Work with suppliers to purchase lab equipment.

• Support reliability checks for products already in production or returned by customers.

• Promote ISO9001/AS9100 quality standards.
