How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Lead the clinical operations and strategic planning for the Stroke Program to maintain Primary or Comprehensive Stroke Center certification, ensuring all protocols align with the latest AHA/ASA guidelines and state regulatory requirements.

  • Drive performance improvement by collecting, analyzing, and reporting Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) data; you will identify clinical trends, manage the stroke registry, and implement corrective action plans to optimize "door-to-needle" and "door-to-perfusion" times.

  • Act as the primary liaison between the Emergency Department, Neurology, ICU, and EMS to ensure seamless transitions of care; this includes participating in trauma activations and leading stroke peer review committees to evaluate complex cases.

  • Design and deliver specialized stroke education and competency training for nursing staff and physicians, while also spearheading community outreach initiatives to increase public awareness of stroke symptoms and prevention within the region.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
