How you'll make an impact in this role

  • Enhanced Patient Care: RNs in the Cardiology Clinic deliver improved patient outcomes through regular assessments, medication management, and education, ultimately reducing emergency hospital visits and readmissions.
  • Preventative Health Education: They empower patients by providing crucial information on diet, exercise, and medication adherence to prevent the progression of cardiovascular diseases.
  • Specialized Monitoring and Intervention: RNs perform and interpret EKGs, monitor cardiovascular devices, and promptly address acute concerns like arrhythmias, ensuring immediate and effective care for patients.
  • Comprehensive Care Coordination: Acting as the primary point of contact, nurses facilitate seamless communication between consultations, diagnostic tests, and follow-ups, advocating for and supporting patients and their families throughout their cardiac care journey.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

What additional requirements you'll need

  • 2+ years of RN experience in cardiology, cardiovascular, or telemetry units
  • Experience with procedures such as stress tests, echo-cardiograms, or device checks
  • ACLS preferred
  • Strong EKG monitoring/interpretation skills
  • Knowledge of cardiology medications
  • Excellent patient education skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
