The Regional Account Manager will be responsible for developing customer relationships, supporting distributor partners, driving product education, and identifying new opportunities with contractors, builders, engineers, and commercial project influencers.
Role DescriptionThe Regional Account Manager will represent Building Health Group in the Mid-Atlantic territory, covering Virginia, North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina.
This role is responsible for managing and growing distributor, contractor, builder, and specifying relationships within the assigned region. The ideal candidate will be comfortable developing new business, conducting product training, supporting wholesale distribution, and presenting solutions that help customers improve HVAC system performance, indoor air quality, and overall building health.
The successful candidate will work independently while staying aligned with BHG’s manufacturers, internal team, and regional growth objectives.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage and grow relationships with wholesale distributors, contractors, builders, engineers, architects, and other trade partners.
Represent BHG’s manufacturer lines professionally throughout the assigned territory.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within HVAC/R, IAQ, dehumidification, ventilation, filtration, and related product categories.
Conduct product trainings, counter days, sales meetings, jobsite visits, and customer presentations.
Support distributor branches by helping educate account managers, inside sales teams, and contractor customers.
Develop territory plans that target key accounts, growth opportunities, and market gaps.
Track sales activity, account progress, market feedback, and customer opportunities.
Assist with product launches, promotions, stocking programs, and regional marketing initiatives.
Build long-term relationships that strengthen BHG’s presence across the Mid-Atlantic market.
Work with BHG leadership and manufacturer partners to align strategies, pricing, training, and customer support.
QualificationsProven experience in account management, sales, business development, or territory management.
HVAC/R, indoor air quality, wholesale distribution, contractor sales, or manufacturer rep experience strongly preferred.
Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to call on distributors, contractors, builders, engineers, and decision-makers.
Ability to deliver effective product presentations and training sessions.
Strong communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a regional sales environment.
Comfortable using CRM systems, sales tools, email, reporting platforms, and basic data tracking.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
Ability to travel throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina.
Knowledge of regional HVAC/R distribution channels and contractor networks is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
