Reach Truck Operator 19 Per Hour 5 Am - 2:30 Pm

The Reach Truck Operator safely operates a Crown reach truck forklift in a high-volume cold storage environment to move, pick, and stage products. This role requires working in temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees, maintaining accuracy and efficiency while supporting a fast-paced food distribution operation with significant overtime opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Crown reach truck forklift safely and efficiently in a cold storage environment with temperatures down to minus 20 degrees.
• Pick customer orders accurately according to pick tickets or system instructions.
• Stage pallets and orders in designated areas for loading, shipping, or further processing.
• Move, organize, and replenish product in storage racks while maintaining proper placement and rotation.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of steel toe boots and appropriate cold-weather gear.
• Work flexibly within a schedule that can run between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM and support substantial overtime as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area in both the front cooler (40–45 degrees) and the minus 20 degree storage area.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support smooth warehouse operations.
• Adhere to all operational guidelines in a fast-paced, seasonal environment, especially during peak months from July to November.

• Proven experience operating a reach truck forklift, preferably Crown reach trucks, in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Demonstrated ability to work for extended periods in cold environments, including temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees.
• Ability to work flexible hours between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM and to perform significant overtime when required.
• Strong attention to safety, including consistent use of steel toe boots and appropriate protective gear.
• Capability to perform accurate order picking and staging in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic English or Spanish language skills; English only or Spanish only is acceptable.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality to support time-sensitive food distribution operations.

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus.
• Experience working in food distribution or cold storage environments is beneficial.
• Comfort working in both cooler (40–45 degrees) and deep-freeze (minus 20 degrees) areas throughout the day.
• Ability to adapt to seasonal increases in workload, particularly from July through November.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with warehouse staff and drivers.

Work Environment

This role is based at a food distribution center located in Medley. The operation supports many different clients and runs at a fast pace, especially during the busy season from July to November. You work primarily in cold environments: the front area is kept between 40 and 45 degrees, while the back storage area where reach truck operators spend most of the day is maintained at approximately minus 20 degrees. The schedule requires flexibility, with regular hours falling between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM and frequent overtime. Safety is a top priority, and all team members must wear steel toe boots and appropriate cold-weather gear suitable for extended time in low temperatures while operating Crown reach trucks and handling product in the warehouse.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medley, FL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
