Job Requirements POSITION SUMMARY
The Radiology Coordinator oversees administrative and operational functions within the radiology department, ensuring efficient workflows and compliance with regulatory standards. The Radiology Coordinator manages scheduling, patient records, communication between healthcare teams, and supports radiology staff to enhance overall effectiveness and patient care.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
- Assists Technologist and Radiologist daily activities.
- Communicates and documents accurate data to other departments and external physician offices as required.
- Communicates effectively with customers (patients, LP, other Health First associates, the public, etc.) always using excellent customer relation skills.
- Follow all Federal, State and Regional healthcare regulations and adhere to Joint Commission standards.
- Answers phone calls and routes them as needed.
- Imports outside imaging into Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Maintains flexibility, adapts to changes in workflow processes and the needs of the Health First organization based upon fluctuations in patient volume.
Work Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience: None
- Licensure: None
- Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Demonstrates effective time management and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a stressful work environment.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior patient care or customer service experience.
- Previous experience in a general office or prior Radiology experience.
- Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Basic Computer Skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.
- Long periods of computer time or at workstation.
- Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.
- May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
- Workspace may vary from open to confined.
- May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
