The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Structural Heart division.

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

As an R&D Technician you will: Perform research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting,repairingand modification of mechanical or electromechanical materials, devices, assemblies, subassemblies, systems. and products. Experience in hands on prototype development and creation in the areas of catheter delivery systems and braided devices.

WhatYou’llWork On

• Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, or optical areas.
• Builds or assembles prototype materials, components,subassembliesand assemblies. Emphasis on catheter systems and braided devices, including long term implants.
• Constructs,operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts,maintainsand tests equipment,systemsor products.
• Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
• Performs tests, analyzesdataandwritesreports.
• Reviews ordevelopsprocessing or manufacturing instructions.
Maintainsdetailed documentation through all phases of development,testingand analysis.
• Mayassistin the transfer of technology and/or contributeincross-functional discussionsregardingdevice performance allegations.
• Indicate the reporting relationships, products, budgets, throughput, level and purpose of contacts (internal and external), or other scope measures that are key to this position.
• (Influence/Leadership) May provide work direction to other employees in work group.
• (Planning/Organization) Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintainsschedulefor projects and project milestones.Establishespriorities of individual or project assignments.
• (Decision Making/Impact) Solves complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership in evolving projects.Selects methods and practices to solve problems using ingenuity, creativity, and a high degree of independent action and initiative.Proposes solutions independently; makes decisions on projects. Develops and implements projects from concept to completion.

Required Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education and work experience

Associates/Technical Degree Preferred

Minimum 4 yearsof hands-on prototyping experience

Related work experience-Appliesextensive knowledge of complex technical concepts and practices, and a complete understanding of product or systems fundamentals in a functionalarea andworking knowledge of other related disciplines.

The base pay for this position is $23.55 – $47.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
