This is a founding member opportunity to design, implement, and define the culture of our state of the art facility from the ground floor.
The Role
The Quality Supervisor leads in-process quality assurance across injection molding, foaming, wrapping, and assembly. This role focuses on preventing defects at the source, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring robust process controls meet IATF 16949 and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- In-Process Management: Supervise daily quality activities and ensure strict adherence to control plans, PFMEAs, and standard operating procedures.
- Auditing & Compliance: Conduct regular process, layered (LPA), and product audits. Monitor real time KPIs to prevent non conforming products from advancing.
- Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa methods. Drive projects to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation.
- Team Leadership: Coach and develop a team of Inspectors, Engineers, and Lab Technicians. Establish performance goals and lead technical training.
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve issues. Support NPI and PPAP activities from a quality perspective.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 6 to 8 years of Quality Assurance experience within the automotive industry.
- Leadership: Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Technical Expertise: Strong hands on experience with Injection Molding and PU Foaming processes.
- Core Tools: Practical knowledge of IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to use 8D and 5 Why methodologies in a fast paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: IATF 16949 Internal Auditor, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Systems: Experience with VDA 6.3 standards and ERP/QMS software.
- Scope: Specific experience with cockpit, instrument panel, or seating components.
