This onsite leadership role is responsible for driving quality systems, customer satisfaction, compliance initiatives, supplier quality performance, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization.

A Day in the Life of the Quality Manager

As the Quality Manager, you'll serve as the leader of the Quality Department, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements while driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and OEM customers to maintain world-class quality standards, oversee audits and certifications, resolve quality concerns, and support operational excellence across the facility.


Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance department
  • Establish and monitor quality objectives, training initiatives, corrective actions, and preventive actions
  • Manage customer scorecards, customer portals, and quality performance metrics
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes to ensure timely issue resolution
  • Coordinate calibration programs and resolve gage-related concerns
  • Manage monthly tool inspection activities
  • Lead external audits and maintain annual audit schedules for quality management systems and suppliers
  • Maintain supplier certifications and quality compliance documentation
  • Ensure customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements remain current and properly implemented
  • Maintain certifications including IATF, AIAG, BIQS, and other applicable standards
  • Manage and support quality-related databases, including calibration, PPAP, inspection, supplier quality, and program management systems
  • Support first-time-through (FTT) reporting, layered audits, and quality performance tracking
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and external quality stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor Quality Engineers and APQP/customer quality personnel
  • Communicate quality concerns and corrective actions throughout the organization
  • Oversee containment activities, sorting operations, and certified material programs
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve error-proofing systems and process controls
  • Interface directly with OEM Supplier Quality Engineers regarding performance, approvals, and process validations
  • Submit quality documentation for process changes, new production lines, and related projects
  • Monitor third-party vendors for quality performance, on-time delivery, accuracy, and cost reduction opportunities
  • Track containment effectiveness and production quality metrics
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing operations
  • Manage document control processes and revision-level compliance


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in an automotive environment
  • Strong management experience in handling direct reports
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 requirements and compliance standards
  • Ability to maintain all internal/external certifications (IATF, AIAG, BIQS, etc)
  • Experience with automotive quality inspections, audits, and quality management systems
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives and problem-solving techniques
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
