Job Title: Quality Manager
Job Description

The Quality Manager leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems to ensure exceptional product standards, regulatory compliance, and high levels of customer satisfaction. This role oversees quality policies, documentation, and customer requirements in alignment with internal standards and ISO 9001 and IATF expectations, while driving operational excellence in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality-related problem solving and root cause analysis in manufacturing, with a focus on scrap management and effective resolution of customer complaints.
  • Minimize the cost of product waste by standardizing processes, acceptance criteria, and quality controls across operations.
  • Ensure customer PPAP submissions, First Article inspections, and Product Certifications are prioritized, completed accurately, and submitted on time.
  • Assist with product changes and deviation requests, ensuring appropriate quality review, documentation, and approval.
  • Lead and manage the internal audit process, including planning, execution, follow-up, and continuous improvement actions.
  • Coordinate ISO 9001 certification audits and surveillance audits, ensuring readiness, compliance, and timely closure of findings.
  • Own and report performance on quality KPIs during quarterly plant quality board meetings and annual management reviews.
  • Provide training on quality awareness and ISO 9001 requirements to associates at all levels to strengthen the quality culture.
  • Drive customer complaint tracking to effective closure, including investigation, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address process changes, process improvements, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Report key supplier quality issues and collaborate with purchasing to improve supplier performance and incoming quality.
  • Represent the organization in third-party audits, demonstrating robust quality systems and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders, providing clear and professional communication.
  • Effectively present quality performance, risks, and improvement plans to top management, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing staff.
  • Provide effective leadership to the quality organization at the site, including guidance, coaching, and support for quality team members.
  • Use advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel, to analyze data, prepare reports, and maintain quality documentation.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned to support business and customer requirements.
Essential Skills
  • 2–5 years of experience in a quality management function, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Tier 1 automotive or similar high-demand manufacturing is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with quality engineering tools and methodologies, including PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and related core tools.
  • Internal and second-party auditing experience, with the ability to plan, conduct, and report audits effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and IATF-related requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including speaking, typing, and presenting information clearly and professionally.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a quality team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including root cause analysis and implementation of effective corrective actions.
  • Ability to respond professionally to inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and associates.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers, suppliers, and manufacturing staff.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related field.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Quality Manager certification is highly valued.
  • Certified Internal Auditor ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent internal auditing qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook in addition to Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of core quality tools, including PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), SPC (Statistical Process Control), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  • Ability to train others on quality awareness, ISO 9001 requirements, and quality processes.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations, changing priorities, and evolving customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to improve supplier quality performance.
Work Environment

This role operates on-site in a factory environment, working closely with manufacturing, engineering, and cross-functional teams. The position involves regular interaction on the production floor to monitor processes, support problem solving, and verify the effectiveness of quality improvements. Standard office tools and computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications, support reporting, documentation, and analysis. The work setting is fast-paced and quality-focused, with frequent engagement in audits, meetings, and cross-functional initiatives.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
