Job Title: Quality Laboratory Technician
The Quality Lab Technician will provide quality control and assurance by testing customer fabric using necessary standards and test equipment.
Essential Functions
· Performs assigned, routine visual inspections and other specified tests on goods in process and finished products.
· Tests and approves processed materials based on established quality specifications.
· Uses observation and testing to identify faults in materials and manufacturing process.
· Uses statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate quality of full product batch prior to delivery to clients or customers.
· Compares results of tested material to company’s quality standards; reports results to supervisor for final analysis and action steps.
· Reports test results to management, production, and customer service.
· Consults with supervisor to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
· Maintains quality test records as needed.
· Perform tests using tensile testers, hydrometer, flame testing, spray tests, drop tests, and checking sample weights.
· Perform any other duties asked of you by your supervisors
Competencies
· Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being tested.
· Thorough attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports.
Work Environment
This job is in a laboratory and subject to that work environment.
Physical Demands
· Prolonged periods of standing during material testing.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Schedule
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Some travel between local plant locations may be required.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma, technical school education, or equivalent required.
Some testing lab exposure.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
