Quality Inspector | 1st Shift | $20 - $25/hr

Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that quality processes are consistently followed, maintaining quality-related documentation, assisting in the investigation of customer complaints, and escalating quality issues as necessary. Your role will involve verifying that products, materials, and components meet established quality standards and specifications by performing tests, measurements, and inspections. You will also verify incoming materials, in-process production, and final products, documenting results and identifying defects to prevent non-conforming goods from being shipped.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual and physical examinations of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to identify defects, deviations, or non-conformities.
  • Use precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify that product dimensions match engineering blueprints or technical specifications.
  • Record detailed inspection results, including pass/fail rates, quantities inspected, and specific measurements, often inputting this data into a quality database.
  • Reject and segregate non-conforming materials, and communicate these findings to production supervisors to trigger corrective actions or process adjustments.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in quality inspection and control.
  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and performing visual inspections.
  • Experience with CMM, FARO Arm, or ROMER Arm is required.
  • Manufacturing QC experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing QC role.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with PPAP process and 1st Article experience.
  • Analytical ability to perform root cause analysis.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift or maneuver heavy materials (often up to 50 lbs.).

Work Environment

Work on the day shift from 7am to 4pm, with an hour unpaid lunch from 12 to 1. This position is temp-to-hire. Initial training will take place in Columbia for the first month.Q

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
