Job Title: Quality Engineering Manager
Location: San Jose, CA
Pay Range (Market): $120,000 – $160,000/year
Role Overview
- We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Manager to lead product quality initiatives and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. This role serves as the primary quality interface with customers, driving resolution of quality issues and strengthening confidence in product performance.
- You will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, while directly engaging with customers on technical quality matters. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring strong semiconductor expertise, problem-solving ability, and customer-facing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Engineering team
- Drive initiatives to improve product quality across the portfolio
- Act as the primary customer interface for all quality-related matters
- Collaborate with:
- Failure Analysis
- Test Engineering
- Product Engineering
- Field Sales
- Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective/preventive actions
- Own and deliver 8D reports for customer issues
- Implement and sustain process and system-level quality improvements
- Manage customer notifications related to product or process changes
- Support and lead customer audits and quality reviews
- Travel globally to support customer engagements as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
- 10+ years of experience in customer quality engineering (semiconductors)
- Strong expertise in:
- 8D problem-solving methodology
- Semiconductor products and manufacturing processes
- Proven customer-facing experience in a quality leadership role
- Excellent technical writing skills (clear, concise reporting)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to travel globally as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin (verbal and written)
