The Work
Description: Quality Engineer (QE) position supporting the Dynamic Components Back Shop Gear Room located at RMS Sikorsky in Stratford, CT. This position will report to the Dynamics Quality Engineering Manager. Responsible for all aspects of Quality during part inspection, production and support stages. Partner with Program Management, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, suppliers, and the Customer.

In this role, the QE will at a minimum:
1. Diagnose, decipher, triage and track to closure all engineering issues discovered. This could entail blueprint changes, model-based definition updates and operation sheet revisions.
2. Track open quality issues and associated documentation to closure with engineering.
3. Utilize front end database systems such as Tableau or create SQL/Python databases and queries to pull and analyze data.
4. Utilize and present data to aid in business decisions and recommendations maintaining product center key quality metrics.
5. Ability and willingness to learn / already understand drawing interpretation, CMM programs & GD&T.
6. Develop and implement quality planning, inspection methods, & assist with the creation and approval of FAI packages for production parts.
7. Assist with the creation and approval of ICLs for production parts.
8. Drive root cause and corrective action investigations in support of the Daily Review Teams (DRT), Corrective Action Board (CAB), & High Visibility (Hi-Vis) escape management process.
9. Assure Quality standards are implemented and adhered to throughout the product lifecycle.
10. Promote continuous improvement through effective use of Enterprise Excellence tools to eliminate discrepancies and escapes.
11. Implement standard work for key processes and support Product Operations initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include support of the Material Review Board, Quality Council as well as Product Safety, and ESH initiatives.

Candidates for this position should possess strong product and process knowledge, excellent technical skills, adept with desktop PC applications and information systems, and communication and presentation skills.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited University or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
• Must possess effective communication where you are able to structure, prepare and deliver compelling and clear technical communications
• Experience with creation of inspection plans & FAIs
Desired Skills:
• Background in ISO 9001/AS9100
• Experience with Gears manufacturing & inspection
• Experience with reading engineering drawings
• Quality Engineering knowledge including skills in creating and maintaining quality plans, inspection instructions, FAIs, & standard work.
• Proven track record using Root Cause Analysis methodologies to investigate non‑conformances, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement
• Knowledge of MS office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
