Quality Engineer - $80k-$85k/annually DOE!

Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Quality Engineer for our manufacturing client to start immediately at $80k-$85k/annually DOE! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!


Responsibilities:


This position contributes to APQP processes while creating and maintaining PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Work Instructions, and overseeing the PPAP submission process. The Quality Engineer analyzes non-conformances, drives corrective actions, and implements process enhancements to ensure adherence to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific standards. Additional duties include tracking supplier performance, assisting with internal and supplier audits, and collaborating with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to uphold product quality, minimize defects, and promote continuous improvement.


  • Prepare, manage, and maintain PPAP documentation in compliance with customer expectations and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Lead and coordinate corrective actions (8D/5-Why) related to customer, supplier, and internal issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer and supplier quality matters, addressing concerns and providing necessary documentation.
  • Conduct and support various quality audits, including validation, product, and Layered Process Audits (LPAs).
  • Evaluate and disposition nonconforming materials, collaborating with production, engineering, and other departments to establish rework or sorting instructions as needed.
  • Organize and oversee external sorting and containment activities when required.
  • Administer and monitor the calibration program to ensure all measurement and test equipment remain controlled and properly maintained.
  • Review and interpret SPC data to assess process capability and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions, process enhancements, and preventive measures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet company and customer quality objectives.


Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Schedule/Shift Details: 8:00am-5:00pm M-F

  • Overtime as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related function.
  • Comprehensive understanding of core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, drawing interpretation, and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems.
  • Practical experience with measurement instruments, hand gauges, and testing equipment.
  • Preferred background in automotive or medical manufacturing environments.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers, and all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities utilizing 8D and 5-Why methodologies.
  • Well-developed organizational and project management skills with the capability to work independently.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing—automotive or industrial preferred; OEM experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  • Ability to clearly compile and present data in reports and meetings.
