Manage customer complaints and returns; Manage the company's non-conformance databases.
Lead problem solving activities utilizing industry standard methodologies: 8D’s, 5 why’s, 3x5, Ishikawa fish bone diagrams.
Work with Sales and Supply Chain staff on customer returns and vendor issues
Direct or inform technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
Perform initial analysis and testing on customer returns/suspect parts and disposition accordingly. Work with Production, Manufacturing, and Engineering personnel on RCCA
Complete FAI reports per AS9102 for submittal to customer
Conduct Process audits and participate in the Layered Process Audit program. Plan and conduct AS9100 Internal Audits as part of the audit team.
Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures. Experience with APQP and PPAP process (Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plan)
With input from Engineering, plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component. Develop Incoming Inspection requirements
Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, assist with maintaining customer-specific requirements, Supplier quality manuals, and company quality records.
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods and other Quality tools for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
Participate in Production and Vendor MRB activities
Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities. Develop procedures and work instructions as needed
Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management.
Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities and present technical and program information to team members and management.
Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
Manage multiple demands (Internal and External) while demonstrating good attention to detail, schedules, and deliverables
What You'll Bring
Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or other technical field
Two-year minimum experience in a manufacturing environment as a Quality Engineer.
Hands-on experience applying quality principles.
Quality certification (ex: CQT, CCT, CQE, or CRE) is a plus.
1-2 years’ experience with AS9100 or IATF16949
