Position Title: Quality Control Supervisor

Salary Range: $80,000–$100,000 per year
Role Overview:
The Quality Control Supervisor will lead a highly skilled laboratory team, ensuring that daily testing priorities are met and that analytical work meets the highest standards of accuracy, regulatory compliance, and scientific integrity. This pivotal role promotes a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence, contributing directly to the success of our quality mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations within the QC laboratory, establishing testing priorities and coordinating staff schedules and assignments to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
- Provide clear direction, support, and performance feedback to laboratory personnel, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of testing activities.
- Review and approve analytical results in accordance with internal policies to guarantee data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and actively participate in laboratory investigations, ensuring timely documentation and resolution of any deviations.
- Maintain and manage the equipment calibration program, ensuring all analytical instruments are appropriately calibrated and maintained.
- Author and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure up-to-date, compliant laboratory practices.
- Ensure QC laboratory operations meet all regulatory requirements, including cGMP and safety standards.
- Deliver training to laboratory staff on procedures, cGMP, and safety; foster a learning environment that promotes high performance.
- Serve as the principal liaison between the QC laboratory and other site departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Act as backup support for Laboratory Management in their absence.
- Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using HPLC, GC, CE, ICP, FTIR, TOC, and dissolution apparatus as needed.
- Support internal and external audit and inspection readiness by preparing laboratory documentation and staff.
- Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations for laboratory staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or related scientific discipline; or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- 8+ years of experience in a cGMP analytical chemistry laboratory, with robust hands-on knowledge of analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, CE, ICP, FTIR, TOC, dissolution apparatus).
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to mentoring and developing team members.
- Proven capability to build effective relationships at all organizational levels.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including attentive listening and constructive feedback.
- Superior attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
