About the Role
Stack Street Coffee is a rapidly growing coffee manufacturing and distribution company operating multiple production lines and producing millions of units annually across a range of formats. We serve major retailers, national brands, and DTC partners nationwide.
We are looking for a Quality Control Supervisor (1st and 2nd shift) to own and implement product quality across production, enforce standards on the floor, and ensure consistency at scale.
This is a hands-on role on the production floor, not a desk-based QA position. You will work directly within production to monitor quality in real time, hold standards under pressure, and ensure every product meets spec before it leaves the facility.
At Stack Street Coffee, we operate with high standards and high accountability. We expect our team to take ownership, solve problems proactively, and hold the line on quality even when production is under pressure.
Mission of the Role
Build and run the systems that ensure:
- every product meets defined quality and food safety standards
- issues are identified and corrected before products reach customers
- production teams follow consistent, repeatable processes
- quality issues are identified once and do not repeat
- quality scales with production volume without degradation
You are responsible for making quality a controlled, predictable system — not a reactive function.
What You Own
You will own the execution of quality control and food safety across production, including:
- In-process and finished product quality checks across all production lines
- Enforcement of GMP, HACCP, and BRCGS (or equivalent) standards on the production floor
- Real-time monitoring of production to identify and address quality issues immediately
- Authority to stop, adjust, or escalate production when quality standards are not met
- Execution and oversight of quality testing (oxygen, brew, weight, seal integrity, sensory)
- Ownership of QC holds, including investigation, disposition, and release decisions
- Root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to eliminate repeat issues
- Batch documentation, traceability, and quality records
- Incoming material and packaging quality verification and approval
- Daily facility audits for GMP, cleanliness, and food safety compliance
- Maintenance of SOPs, SSOPs, COAs, and quality documentation systems
- Support of third-party, regulatory, and customer audits (including BRCGS)
- Equipment calibration verification and coordination to ensure measurement accuracy
- Environmental monitoring and swabbing programs
- Training production staff on quality standards, procedures, and expectations
- Continuous improvement of quality systems as production volume and complexity increase
You will have operational authority over product quality on the production floor.
What Success Looks Like
- Product quality is consistent across batches, SKUs, and production lines
- Issues are caught before products reach customers
- Production does not continue when quality is out of spec
- Quality issues are identified once and do not repeat
- QC processes are followed consistently across all shifts
- Customer complaints related to quality are minimal and decreasing
- Audit readiness is maintained at all times
Key metrics include:
- Defect rate / customer complaints
- First-pass quality rate
- Rework and waste tied to quality issues
- Batch consistency
- Audit performance (internal and external)
- Time to identify and resolve quality issues
