QC Analyst- Pharmaceutical

Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Quality Control Analyst where you will perform essential biochemical, physical, and chemical evaluations of process development, lot release, and stability samples in compliance with cGMP guidelines. This role requires a commitment to safety and quality, with opportunities for training on advanced analytical methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform biochemical, physical, and chemical analyses of test samples under cGMP with direct or minimal supervision to meet specified timelines.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting test methods as needed.
  • Identify and contribute to Out of Specification (OOS), Out of Expectation (OOE), and Out of Trend (OOT) investigations related to testing performed.
  • Initiate and author deviation and laboratory investigations.
  • Maintain the laboratory in an inspection-ready state.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in a broad range of trained test methods.
  • Train analysts on test methods and procedures.
  • Author Change Control records and lead the revision of written procedures as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, 21CFR, USP, EP, ICH, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage reagent and equipment inventory for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Responsible for sampling and testing of incoming raw materials.

Essential Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of cGMP regulations, including 21CFR 210 & 211, USP, EP, and ICH.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and perform tasks with direct or minimal supervision.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to develop skills in the operation and maintenance of various analytical instruments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Protein analytics, SDS-PAGE, separations technology for HPLC, Chromatography Data Systems (CDS) software such as OpenLab, subvisible particles testing (USP <788>), and Container Closure Integrity Testing (CCIT) is preferred.
  • B.S./B.A. in Science or related field with a major in biology, biochemistry, or chemistry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant laboratory experience in a GMP environment is desired.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vacaville, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
