Quality Assurance Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Lead/Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will come from a steel or job shop atmosphere and possess a keen attention to detail, especially in quality control of welded elements. As a Quality Assurance Lead, you will work closely with the foreman and floor staff, ensuring welds are perfect and fit for use. This role involves measuring parts, reading prints and GD&T, and utilizing various quality tools for inspection.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with welders and fabricators to ensure perfect welds.
• Measure parts and check quality using tools such as mics, calipers, gages, and height gages.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Document and write reports using an iPad and computer.
• Analyze data related to quality assurance.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks on welded elements.

• Proven experience as a higher-level quality technician with great attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using quality tools such as mics, calipers, and gages.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Comfortable with documentation and report writing using digital tools.

• Experience in a job shop atmosphere.
• Quality checks on welded elements (90% of the job).

Work Environment

Work in an older building that experiences colder temperatures in winter and warmer conditions in summer. The company is continuously investing in plant updates. Experience a family-oriented environment with a smaller shop atmosphere and a large client portfolio. The work schedule is typically 1st Shift: 7am - 3:30pm, with potential for overtime until 4:30pm. Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Warren,MI.
