JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring compliance of processes and products with Magnera’s quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. Leads the quality team, ensures proper implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS), and drives continuous improvement across all plant operations.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventative actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
  • Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Lead all required meetings and activities for Safety, Change Management and general quality department initiatives.
  • Plan, organize, and direct the quality function to ensure the most effective return on assets.
  • Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  • Sets goals for their organizations unit and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
  • Interact regularly with Frontline Leaders and production employees to provide direction and leadership.
  • Interface with and frequently visit customer sites to build relationships and understand customer requirements.
  • Initiate plans and processes to minimize costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with all government regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains statistically valid quality testing program consistent with industry standards.
  • Manages internal and external audit processes.
  • Ensures that all quality data is compliant with ISO9001:2015.
  • Uses continuous improvement methods such as Lean and Six Sigma to develop best practices in quality.
  • Partners with Operations and Supply Chain to address customer support and quality issues.
  • Responsible for pest control program as it relates to the quality function
  • Supports process engineering on process control.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, trend analysis, and corrective actions of lab related issues.
  • Responsible for competitive analysis and testing including trials and customer samples.
  • Recommends disposition of all non-conforming material
  • Serves as point of contact for non-company certification representatives (ISO)
  • Establish, maintain and ensure compliance with quality audit procedures
  • Ensure all decisions are linked to the company’s strategic plan and core values.
  • Prepare and present audit reports. Direct investigation on product and process irregularity causes
  • Monitor corrective actions regarding process and product to ensure appropriate results
  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving and cost reduction.
  • Conduct periodic quality department and plant communications meetings. Ensure effective communication of quality objectives and results with all employees.
  • Participate in long term strategic planning for the quality function involving the optimum utilization of company assets and human resources.
  • Support the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of contingency plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in quality management within hygiene products manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Seven years or more manufacturing experience with a background in Process or Quality Assurance
  • Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor preferred
  • Six sigma green or black belt preferred Strong knowledge of RCA, GMP, ISO 9001, QMS, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role
