Description
Performs routine and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and support of Town infrastructure, including streets, parks, fleet, and public facilities. Assists with roadway maintenance, grounds upkeep, building maintenance, and vehicle/equipment care. Operates light equipment and tools while supporting multiple Public Works divisions. Helps ensure safe, clean, and efficient operation of Town assets and services.

Roads Maintenance
· Assists with maintenance and repair of Town streets, including pothole patching, crack sealing, and minor surface repairs.
· Assists with installation, repair, and replacement of traffic control signs and pavement striping.
· Maintains storm drainage infrastructure such as culverts, ditches, and inlets by removing debris and sediment.
· Performs street sweeping, litter removal, and general roadway cleaning.
· Assists with traffic control and flagging operations at work sites.
· Operates light equipment such as pickup trucks, small loaders, and hand tools.
· Assists with snow and ice removal, including plowing, sanding, and de-icing operations.
Fleet Maintenance
· Assists with routine preventive maintenance on Town vehicles and equipment, including inspections, fluid checks, tire pressure checks, and cleaning.
· Performs basic servicing tasks such as washing, fueling, and organizing equipment.
· Assists with minor mechanical repairs under supervision.
· Maintains cleanliness and organization of fleet shop and work areas.
· Reports equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns promptly.
Parks Maintenance
· Assists with mowing, trimming, edging, and general landscape maintenance of parks and open spaces.
· Perform trash collection, restroom cleaning, and general park upkeep.
· Assists with irrigation system checks, basic repairs, and watering activities.
· Help maintain playgrounds, picnic areas, trails, and park facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness.
· Assists with seasonal tasks such as planting, weed control, and leaf removal.
· Reports on maintenance or safety concerns within parks to the manager.
Building Maintenance
· Assists with basic maintenance and repair of Town buildings and facilities.
· Performs routine tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and minor repairs.
· Assists with cleaning, painting, and general upkeep of facilities.
· Helps set up and take down equipment for Town events or facility use.
· Performs minor plumbing and carpentry tasks under supervision.
· Monitors facilities for safety hazards and reports issues as needed.
General Public Works Support
· Assists all public works crews as needed.
· Responds to after-hours emergency calls in accordance with department policies.
· Maintains tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe conditions.
· Maintains records of work performed when required.
· Other duties as assigned.

Education or Formal Training:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Some experience or training in public works, construction, landscaping, building maintenance, automotive maintenance, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
· An equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience may be considered.
· Technical training or coursework in areas such as equipment operation, mechanical systems, irrigation, or facilities maintenance is desirable.
Certificates and Licenses:
· Valid Colorado’s Driver’s License.
· Flagger certification or the ability to obtain within one year.
· Chemical licensures or the ability to obtain within 1 to 2 years.
Work Environment:
General environment for a public works department. Work may include being outside in inclement weather and being around hazardous chemicals. The job regularly requires operating heavy machinery and performing manual labor. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range: $48,500 -$60,000 plus benefits
