Psychiatry—Open Rank Faculty Position, College of Medicine

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UT Health Science Center) is seeking full-time psychiatrists for adult outpatient and adult consultation liaison psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatrists for consultation liaison, emergency psychiatry, and outpatient psychiatry. Areas of need for adult psychiatrists include general psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, and addiction psychiatry. 

The positions are at the faculty rank of Assistant Professor or above, and consist of clinical care, clinical supervision of trainees, departmental and university service, and teaching. There are options for protected research time for interested applicants. Active areas of research include prospective clinical and clinical trials in addiction, pain in aging, cancer, and dementia, large neuroimaging database analyses, clinical trials in child and adolescent psychiatry, and epidemiological, outcomes, and service delivery research through our Center for Youth Advocacy and Well-Being. 

The Department of Psychiatry at the UT Health Science Center is a growing and thriving department that is actively recruiting faculty in several areas.

The department hosts a rich training and clinical program, with psychiatric care and training at Alliance Behavioral Health, Lakeside Behavioral Health, the Memphis Veterans Administration hospital, the Memphis Mental Health Institute, Regional One Health, UT University Clinical Health, the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We train about 175 medical students per year, and sponsor a Psychiatry Residency, a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, and a Post- pediatric Portal Fellowship.
