About the Role
BCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Project Scientist – Compliance to join our growing consulting team. This role is ideal for an environmental or EHS professional who wants hands-on technical work, exposure to industrial facilities, and a clear path toward senior consulting or project management roles.

What You’ll Do
As a Project Scientist, you will support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance programs for industrial clients across multiple regulatory areas, combining field work, technical analysis, and client-facing consulting.
Environmental & Compliance Work
• Conduct wastewater, stormwater, and solid waste sampling
• Support hazardous waste determinations, waste profiling, and manifest preparation
• Assist with chemical inventory development and reporting (Tier II, Form R)
• Perform air emissions calculations and support regulatory reporting
• Conduct site inspections and compliance evaluations (stormwater, wastewater, SPCC, RCRA)
• Develop facility maps, flow diagrams, and compliance documentation
Consulting & Program Support
• Support ongoing, contract-based EHS compliance programs for assigned clients
• Track regulatory deadlines and ensure timely, accurate deliverables
• Identify data anomalies or potential compliance concerns and escalate appropriately
• Assist with regulatory inspection follow-up and corrective action documentation
• Communicate task progress and technical issues with senior consultants
Technical Growth Areas
• Support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 management systems
• Assist with internal compliance and ISO audits
• Support industrial hygiene, ventilation, or exposure-related evaluations
• Participate in quality review of calculations, data, and reports
• Support energy data tracking and ISO 50001 documentation

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field preferred (Associates degree or equivalent experience considered)
• 0–4 years of experience in environmental compliance, EHS, or related technical work
• Ability to perform field work, technical writing, and data analysis
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with environmental regulations related to air, water, and waste
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); Adobe experience a plus
