Job Description:

  • Enforce safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of workplace safety.
  • Manage the transition needs and kickoff process with all departments and request constructions.
  • Finalize, track and manage budget constraints to ensure accuracy and profitability targets.
  • Lead and motivate the team to achieve project goals.
  • Oversee and manage all project resources including labor, materials, and equipment to ensure efficient and profitable project execution.
  • Conduct site visits, address issues proactively, and implement solutions efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements.
  • Serve as a diplomatic and professional ambassador for all municipality and inspection needs.
  • Work with Trade Superintendent to schedule all inspection activities in a timely and proactive manner, as possible.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and mitigate risk productively.
  • Create, manage and update 3-week look ahead schedule of all trades and job site activities.
  • Work with Estimating to coordinate early project needs, long lead time item management, jobsite staging and phasing.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact the project’s timeline, budget, quality or safety needs.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the project including but not limited to bidding, estimating, change orders, pay applications, trade partner billing and contracts, and material invoices.
  • Generate project leads through ongoing professional relationships with peers, owner and design community.
  • Participate in proposal presentations, representing J.H. Hassinger’s vision, mission and experience.
  • Write and submit testing and inspection logs, quality assurance reports and punch lists.
  • Partner with Superintendent to ensure manpower planning and budget transparency.
  • Participate in the initial business development and client recruitment meetings including interviews, lunches and networking events.
  • Work with superintendent to set initial project schedule, project phasing, staging and resource needs.
  • Communicate expectations and conflicts with JHH Leadership, clients and partners.
  • Manage the project closeout process and ensure delivery of all contractually obligated and customer service-minded information.
  • Schedule, manage and lead OAC meetings.
  • Obtain submittals, write and submit RFI’s for field partners, and communicate approved change orders to all internal and external partners.
  • Manage project cashflow and profitability projections.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all project status updates and changes.
  • Attend and participate in pre-project job walks, scheduling meetings and estimating handoff processes.
  • Ensure or seek out any information that is required to have a clear picture of the client needs and project expectations.
  • Work with business development and operational leaders early in the process to explore client wants and needs and to develop a plan to exceed client expectations.
  • Work with field partners and consultants to manage project quality and consistency.
  • Lead the purchasing process and ensure all resources, long lead items and materials are appropriately scheduled and planned.
  • Review, sign and manage all subcontractor contracts.
  • Communicate issues with subcontractors to the VP of Operations and VP Of Preconstruction, to ensure a feedback loop for future bidding and subcontractor qualification.
  • Schedule, set the agenda and lead bi-weekly project meetings.
  • Manage all project scope changes and contingencies.
  • Serve as the primary contact and overseer of all project expectations and goals for the project team.
  • Buyout subcontractors and ensure estimate is accurate before kicking off the project.
  • Manage ongoing project billing, contracting and accounting processes before, during and after the project closeout.
  • Coordinate with Project Superintendent to ensure punch list completion and approach client walk-throughs with a customer service mindset.
  • Participate in the initial business development and client recruitment meetings including interviews, lunches and networking events, as needed.
  • Seek out opportunities to become knowledgeable and proficient on all software and platforms including Bluebeam, MS 365 Suite, Apple devices, Trimble and any other project management software required by J.H. Hassinger Inc. or our clients/partners.


Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, vocational training, certification from an accreditation organization, or combination of schooling and relevant work experience

• Advanced knowledge of masonry, carpentry and concrete means and methods.

• Direct Field experience with a Union general contractor preferred.

• Valid Driver's License and ability to meet commercial insurance requirements

• Ability to lift, carry or hold 26-50 lbs. more than 10 times per day

• Ability to perform low posture, crouching, crawling, kneeling or squatting activities

• Ability to work occasional weekends, evenings and holidays

• Ability to clearly communicate with others and convey information effectively

• Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

• Ability to manage own time and the time of others

• Ability to motivate, develop and direct people

• Knowledge of commercial construction materials, means and methods, and equipment preferred

• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources preferred
