Project Manager – Heavy Civil (Paving, Grading, Utilities)

We’re partnered with a growing heavy civil contractor delivering a wide range of site development, roadway, and underground utility projects across Northern California.
With a strong pipeline of work across public and private sectors, they’re looking to bring on an experienced Project Manager to lead projects across paving, grading, and wet utilities.
🔧 The Role
You’ll take full ownership of multiple projects, managing both field operations and commercial performance from preconstruction through completion.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing project budgets, schedules, and overall delivery
- Overseeing grading, paving, and underground utility scopes
- Leading project teams including Project Engineers and Superintendents
- Managing subcontractors, procurement, and material buyout
- Handling change orders, cost tracking, and client communication
- Ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across all job sites
🏗 Project Scope
Projects typically include:
- Mass grading and site development
- Asphalt and concrete paving
- Underground wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drain)
- Roadway widening and reconstruction
- Commercial and subdivision infrastructure
✅ What We’re Looking For
- 5–12+ years’ experience in heavy civil construction
- Strong background in grading, paving, and/or wet utilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid commercial understanding (cost control, change orders, forecasting)
- Experience working with public works and/or private developers
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
