Project Manager / Project Engineer

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated Project Manager / Project Engineer – Capital Projects to join their team. This is a high‑visibility engineering role suited for a professional looking to grow into broader project leadership. This position offers hands‑on exposure to capital project execution in a regulated, process‑driven manufacturing environment, with the opportunity to support projects from front‑end definition through construction, startup, and closeout.

The Project Manager / Project Engineer will support and lead capital improvement projects within an operating chemical manufacturing plant. Working closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and EHS teams. This individual will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and manage capital projects across the full project lifecycle, including front‑end loading (FEL), detailed engineering, approvals, construction, commissioning, startup, and project closure.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates; assist in managing CAPEX budgets.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (operations, maintenance, reliability, EHS) to ensure project alignment with site priorities.
• Interface with third‑party engineering firms, contractors, and vendors, including bid evaluation and contractor oversight.
• Participate in construction activities, providing on‑site support and acting as a construction manager when needed.
• Ensure projects comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Apply value engineering and risk mitigation principles throughout project execution.
• Support troubleshooting and technical problem‑solving during project implementation.
• Prepare and deliver project updates to plant and engineering leadership.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Project Management certification (PMP) preferred.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in a chemical, oil & gas, or petrochemical manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting capital projects within a process manufacturing facility.
• Previous experience in process engineering.
• Solid understanding of chemical plant unit operations, systems, and equipment.
• Ability and willingness to spend time in production and construction environments.
• Experience managing capital projects end‑to‑end (full lifecycle)
• Experience collaborating cross‑functionally in regulated or safety‑sensitive environments.
• Comfortable balancing technical detail with practical execution.
• Strong communicator who works well across engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

Compensation Range: $100,000 - $135,000 + 10% Bonus
