Position Title: IT Project Manager II

Location: Lafayette, LA (Hybrid)

Position Status: Full-Time


Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager II to lead complex, cross-functional technology initiatives that drive business value and operational excellence. This role is responsible for managing multiple medium- to high-complexity IT projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to navigate ambiguity while driving projects to completion. You will partner with business leaders, technical teams, and external vendors to deliver strategic technology solutions that support organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead multiple enterprise-level IT projects through the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.

• Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and deliverables.

• Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.

• Establish and execute project communication plans to ensure transparency and alignment.

• Monitor project performance, milestones, dependencies, and risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution.

• Facilitate project meetings, status reporting, stakeholder updates, and executive communications.

• Manage change requests and assess impacts to scope, schedule, budget, and resources.

• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, governance requirements, and stakeholder expectations.

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reporting.

• Track project budgets and make recommendations based on financial analysis.

• Drive continuous improvement of project management processes and PMO best practices.

• Foster collaboration, accountability, and effective teamwork across project teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience leading IT projects in complex environments.

• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.

• Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.

• Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder expectations.

• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to effectively manage ambiguity and adapt to changing priorities.

• Experience working in cross-functional and matrixed team environments.

• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Customer-focused mindset with strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading Agile delivery teams.

• Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO) environment.

• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or related Agile certification.

• Healthcare industry experience is a plus.


Certifications:

One of the following certifications is required or must be obtained within one year of employment:

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

• PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

• Master Project Manager (MPM)
