Project Manager I – Transmission / Substation / Line Projects
Locations: Maiden, NC and/or Charlotte, NC | Hybrid / On-site as needed
Pay: $60.00- $70.00 per hour DOE
Overview:
We are seeking a Project Manager I to oversee projects in electric transmission, substation, and line design/builds connecting data center customers. This role provides single-point accountability under general guidance of a senior PM, managing all phases of project planning and execution. Projects may include low to moderate risk portfolios, requiring leadership across scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, communications, and integration.
Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned projects from planning through execution, ensuring project success factors are met.
- Lead, guide, and coordinate project teams while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Communicate with stakeholders at all levels, from team members to executive leadership.
- Identify and mitigate project risks; enforce safety and compliance standards.
- Support project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Associate degree (or equivalent) in relevant field.
- Working knowledge of project management principles, risk management, decision making, and critical thinking.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Utility industry experience, including electric transmission/substation projects.
- Professional certifications (PMP, CAPM, CMII) or technical utility certifications.
- Knowledge of project scheduling and cost controls.
