Position Overview

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee ground-up and renovation projects throughout the Houston market. This individual will be responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful execution related to schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.


The ideal candidate will have experience managing commercial construction projects in the $3M-$5M range and be comfortable overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.


Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through turnover.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
  • Manage procurement activities, subcontractor buyout, and material tracking.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain communication with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, budget, and quality concerns.
  • Review and process RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and support repeat business opportunities.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, punch lists, and final documentation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working for a General Contractor in a Project Management capacity.
  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects valued between $3M-$5M.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and project management software.


Preferred Project Experience

Candidates should have experience managing one or more of the following project types:

  • Yoga Studios and boutique fitness facilities
  • Multifamily developments
  • Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) projects
  • Museums and cultural facilities
  • K-12 educational facilities

Candidates with a diverse commercial project background and experience managing multiple project types within the $3M-$5M range are highly encouraged to apply.

  • Base Salary: Up to $120,000 depending on experience
