Project Manager – Municipal / Transportation Engineering

We are seeking a Project Manager ready to take ownership of municipal infrastructure projects and grow into a long-term leadership role within our firm. At Hancock Engineering, Project Managers are not just coordinators, they are trusted advisors to our municipal clients, leading projects from concept through construction and playing a key role in shaping the communities we serve.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and manage municipal infrastructure projects (roadway, drainage, sanitary, water distribution, etc.)
• Direct internal teams and external stakeholders, from planning through construction.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget with a high degree of autonomy.
• Guide design decisions and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Utilize hydrology and hydraulic modeling for projects analyzing sanitary, storm, and combined sewer systems, including PCSWWM, Hydroflow, or equivalent.
• Prepare Location Drainage Studies or Drainage Technical Memorandums for projects involving Fed/State funding.
• Support proposals and help grow long-term client relationships.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in municipal or transportation engineering.
• Experience managing or leading projects (or proficiency to step into that role).
• Strong understanding of roadway and utility design.
• Demonstrated experience with roadway, drainage, and sanitary sewer improvements, water/wastewater, and infrastructure projects.
• Experience with drainage modeling software (PCSWWM, Hydroflow, or equivalent).
• PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Strong communication skills and client-facing ability.
