We are seeking an experienced Optical Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of optical network deployment projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in optical technologies such as DWDM, OTN, and hands-on experience managing large-scale network rollouts. This role requires strong leadership, customer engagement, and operational execution skills to drive successful project outcomes.


Location: On-site for Seattle, WA and Ashburn, VA


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Optical network deployment projects from initiation through completion
  • Oversee deployment of DWDM and OTN-based transport networks
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, vendors, and customers
  • Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful delivery
  • Drive deployment of new optical routes and network expansions
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and customers
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, quality benchmarks, and business objectives
  • Provide regular status updates, reporting, and executive-level communication
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies proactively


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in project management within the optical networking domain
  • Strong expertise in Optical Deployment, DWDM, and OTN technologies
  • Hands-on experience managing deployments involving Ciena or similar optical platforms
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale optical network rollout projects
  • Experience working on the customer side as an Optical Deployment Project Manager
  • Strong understanding of both business and operational aspects of project delivery
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with global telecom infrastructure and long-haul networks
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
