Electrical Project Engineer – Transmission & Distribution (T&D)
Location: Syracuse, NY
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to support Transmission & Distribution (T&D) projects in the Syracuse area. This role will focus on the design, analysis, and execution of utility infrastructure projects, working closely with project teams and utility clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering design for transmission and distribution systems, including overhead and underground networks
- Support substation and power delivery projects through design, analysis, and technical review
- Prepare drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Conduct system studies and calculations (load flow, fault analysis, etc.)
- Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and clients to ensure successful project execution
- Review and ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and utility requirements
- Provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 2–8+ years of experience in T&D, power delivery, or utility engineering
- Knowledge of transmission lines, distribution systems, and/or substations
- Experience with industry software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, SKM, etc.) preferred
- Strong understanding of NEC, NESC, and utility standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- EIT or PE license (or working toward licensure)
- Experience working with utility clients or EPC contractors
