Project Engineer – Data Center Projects (Wisconsin)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivatedProject Engineerto support electrical engineering and construction activities onlarge‑scale data center projects across Wisconsin. These projects are fast‑paced, high‑visibility, and mission‑critical—supporting some of the most advanced technology and digital infrastructure in the region.

In this role, you will assist with planning, coordination, and execution of electrical systems from early design through commissioning. You’ll manage technical documentation, support procurement efforts, track project progress, and ensure field operations align with project specifications, safety standards, schedule milestones, and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and construction efforts formajor data center campusesby managing electrical drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Maintain organized project logs and documentation to ensure accurate and real‑time tracking.
  • Collaborate with vendors, engineers, GC/CM teams, and field supervisors to ensure seamless information flow and timely decision‑making.
  • Participate inBIM/VDC coordination, assisting with model updates, clash detection, and design modifications common in data center environments.
  • Support electrical constructability reviews and help ensure field installations align with engineered plans.
  • Assist with cost development, budgeting, procurement, and quantity tracking to support project financial goals.
  • Help manage job billing and estimation specific to complex data center electrical systems.
  • Contribute to field coordination efforts, ensuring schedule alignment and quality compliance.

Essential Skills

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools such asBluebeam, Revit, Navisworks, or similar construction software is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with field teams, engineering staff, vendors, and general contractors.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree inElectrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in electrical contracting or electrical engineering preferred.
  • Experience working ondata centers, mission‑critical facilities, high‑tech infrastructure, or large industrial projectsis a strong plus.
  • Interest in learning high‑volume power distribution, complex MEP coordination, and advanced digital infrastructure systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
