This role combines project estimating, scheduling, and overall project management with hands-on engineering tasks such as control system design, PLC programming, HMI development, and commissioning. The Project Engineer will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with technical and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Estimate project scope and costs, and develop realistic project schedules for midstream facility projects.
- Manage projects from concept through commissioning, including planning, coordination, and progress tracking.
- Define control system architecture and functional requirements for compressor stations, pumping stations, and related midstream facilities.
- Design and develop control system drawings, control logic, and supporting documentation.
- Program PLCs and develop HMIs to meet process control and operational needs.
- Supervise and coordinate the assembly, wiring, and installation of control systems.
- Commission control systems, including testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification.
- Create I/O lists from P&IDs and electrical drawings to support control system design and configuration.
- Develop Cause & Effect matrices based on I/O lists, P&IDs, and electrical drawings.
- Design and draft AutoCAD drawings using information from I/O lists, P&IDs, and electrical drawings.
- Interpret and work from project drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders on RFIs and change orders and support project coordination activities.
- Collaborate with multiple internal departments to support the growth of the local presence and ensure cohesive project execution.
- Interface with clients in the office and in the field to clarify requirements, provide updates, and support successful project outcomes.
- Perform field work verifications to confirm that installations match design and to support commissioning and troubleshooting.
