Lead Capital Project Execution Across Multiple Retail Programs


We’re seeking a Project Coordinator Lead to support capital project execution across new store openings, remodels, self-checkout rollouts, and special initiatives. This role is about leadership at the coordination level, guiding project execution across internal teams, vendors, and store operations to ensure timelines, budgets, and scopes are met.


As a Lead, you will provide oversight and support to Project Coordinators, serving as the point of escalation when field or vendor issues arise, while ensuring consistent delivery across a fast-moving portfolio of projects.


What You’ll Do

Project Execution and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead project execution for assigned capital initiatives (special projects, remodels, new stores, or self-checkout programs).
  • Oversee scope validation, vendor readiness, scheduling, and on-site execution requirements.
  • Coordinate with Store Planning, Construction, Store Operations, and external vendors to keep all moving parts aligned.
  • Facilitate project meetings, risk reviews, and post-project debriefs.

Team Oversight and Support

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to Project Coordinators, reviewing project plans and communication strategies.
  • Serve as an escalation point for blockers, vendor issues, or scheduling conflicts.
  • Help establish structure, accountability, and best practices across the team.

Vendor and Field Coordination

  • Track vendor schedules, material deliveries, and site readiness.
  • Partner with store and field teams to ensure execution readiness and resolve on-site issues.
  • Monitor punch items and drive timely resolution.

Tracking and Documentation

  • Maintain project trackers, rollout dashboards, and Smartsheet schedules.
  • Review and support the creation of project documentation and scope guides.
  • Provide weekly reporting to leadership on status, risks, and resolution efforts.


What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in retail construction, store development, capital projects, or multi-site project execution.
  • Strong leadership experience, proven ability to lead a team of Project Coordinators or direct reports (not just vendors).
  • Hands-on experience managing timelines, vendors, and field readiness for multi-location projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to keep documentation, schedules, and status updates clear across many concurrent projects.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to escalate and resolve issues quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Smartsheet and Adobe Acrobat Pro experience preferred.
